The people who build it are the people you talk to.
terraroot is an independent services business: automating processes where documents go in and structured data comes out. One person builds and one person answers — and that is what you are buying, not something to overlook.
Why that is an advantage rather than a limitation
Buy automation from a consultancy and there are three people between the person who decides and the person who writes the code: a salesperson who takes the first meeting, an account manager who signs, and someone — often the newest on the team — who builds it. Every one of those layers costs money and loses information.
Here there are none. You talk directly to whoever builds it. What you say in the first conversation does not pass through anyone before it reaches the system. There is no proposal written by someone who will not do the work, and no project handed to a junior once it is signed.
There is also no salesperson. If your case is not worth automating, the person telling you so is the one who loses the work — which is why you can believe us when we say it is.
What we do, put plainly
We build processes where documents go in and structured data comes out, using language models, and we put them into production wired to the systems the business already runs on. Then we keep them working, month after month — the part nobody talks about, and the part that decides whether the project survives its first year.
The two halves of the work are not decoration. The software engineering is what makes the system hold up in production: the integrations, the failures, what happens at three in the morning when a badly formed file arrives. The AI engineering is what makes the model reliable enough to trust — measuring accuracy, deciding where a person still has to review, and noticing quality falling before the client does.
We work from Vila Nova da Barquinha, in the district of Santarém, Portugal, for clients here and abroad.
What one person cannot do
Four projects at once is not possible. When the diary is full we say so and offer a date — we do not take the work and do it badly.
There is no team on shift to answer at four in the morning. What there is, is written into the operations plans, with response times by severity, and that is what we commit to.
Working across two languages is part of the job, not a favour. Portuguese and English, both in writing and in the meetings.
Shall we talk?
Tell us which process eats the most hours. We reply within one to two working days, and the person replying is the person who builds it.
